NL ACE

While the Minnesota Twins say adieu, the New Mets say Bonjour to their new ace Johan Santana. Sacrificing outfielder Carlos Gomez, and pitchers Philip Humber, Kevin Mulvey, and Deolis Guerra seems like a modest price for the two-time Cy Young award winner. Santana has gone an impressive 82-35 over the last five seasons, making him arguably the best pitcher in baseball.

I am a Yankee fan myself, but I'll put my hands together for the Mets for finally making a good offseason move. After blowing a seven game lead with 17 games to go to miss the playoffs at the end of last season, one thing was very clear. THE METS NEED PITCHING. When your starting pitchers are only giving you four to five innings, and you have a sub-par bullpen who is being forced to give you four innings a night, you are bound to fail.

In addition to pitching skill, Santana bring defense (2007 AL Gold Glove Winner)and longevity as he is only 28 years old.

So forget his 15-13 record last year, if your a Mets fan, think about what his potential is in the NL......
